My understanding is that this will be converted to 24fps and just works if the video and audio are in the same file?
However, I have separate audio files (5.1) and was wondering if there is anything I need to be careful of / do (i.e. does the audio have to be exported in a specific way or do I need to set 23.976fps somewhere)?
I have looked in this forum, and there is some stuff about it, but this was mostly a while again so I thought it was worth checking in again.

No matter how you import files - you will see DCP-o-matic indicating wether the audio is sample-rate converted or not - that is your indicator that everything is working nicely when going from 23.976 to to 24 fps.
